On Saturday, June 29th, we are going north to get out of the heat for the day.

We will depart Vons at 9 am and likely be back by 3 or 4.

We’ll turn off 395 onto the Owens River Road, leave the pavement at Big Springs campground and head to the Bald mtn. Fire lookout.

From there We’ll work our way around the backside of the Glass mtns.  that loom over Crowley Lake.

After visiting Sawmill meadow We’ll take Black Canyon down to Hwy 120, out to Benton and Hwy 6 to Bishop.

The run is incredibly scenic, but requires virtually no 4×4.

Come prepared just the same and bring lunch, drinks and chairs.
